Getting Started
How do I send files?
Go to the homepage, drag and drop your files (or click to browse), add recipient emails, set a price if you want, and hit Send. Your recipients will get a secure download link by email.
Is ZeFile free?
Yes! The free plan lets you send files up to 2 GB with all core features. Paid plans (Starter and Pro) unlock larger file sizes, longer expiry dates, and lower platform fees.
Do I need an account?
You'll need to verify your email to send files — we use a passwordless OTP system, so there's no password to remember. Just enter your email, confirm the code, and you're in.
Transfers & Downloads
How do recipients download my files?
Recipients receive an email with a secure link. If the transfer has a price, they pay first, then download. If it's free, they download directly. They can also preview watermarked versions before paying.
Can I protect my transfers with a password?
Yes. When creating a transfer, toggle on password protection and set your password. Recipients will need it to access the download page.
What happens when a transfer expires?
Expired transfers are no longer accessible. Recipients will see a message saying the link has expired. You can set expiry dates from 1 day to 90 days depending on your plan.
Payments
How do I get paid?
When a recipient pays for your transfer, the amount (minus the platform fee) is credited to your ZeFile wallet. You can withdraw to your bank account or Mobile Money at any time.
What payment methods are supported?
We accept Visa, Mastercard, and Mobile Money (MTN, Orange, Moov) in supported African countries. More payment methods are coming soon.
What are the platform fees?
The platform fee depends on your plan: Free (10%), Starter (7%), Pro (5%). The fee is calculated at the time of transfer creation and locked in — upgrading later doesn't change fees on existing transfers.
Security & Privacy
Are my files safe?
Yes. Files are encrypted in transit using TLS and stored on secure cloud infrastructure. We never share your files with anyone other than your designated recipients.
Can I delete my files?
Yes. You can cancel or delete any transfer from your dashboard. The files will be removed from our servers.
